Lake Region
Pioneer Threshermen’s Association annual show on Labor Day weekend
(beginning of September) in Dalton, includes steam hauled train rides
on a 600mm gauge line around the showground (about ½ mile, 0.8 km)

Lake Superior
& Mississippi Railroad West Duluth to New Duluth, about 6
miles (10 km). Standard gauge, diesel hauled. Operates weekends from
mid June to mid October, or by private charter.
Minnesota Discovery Centre historic electric trams
(streetcars) operating on a 2½ mile (4 km) line, connecting the main
park at Chisholm with the Glen location. Operates Tuesdays to Sundays
from late May to early September.
Como-Harriet Line between Lake Harriet and Lake Calhoun,
mainly on dedicated track. Operates weekends, most weekday evenings
and some weekday afternoons, May to November
Excelsior Line in the suburb of Excelsior. Operates
weekends May to mid September, also Thursday afternoons from May
to October to serve Excelsior Farmers’ Market
North Shore Scenic Railroad Lake Superior Railroad
Museum, Duluth to Two Harbors; about 26 miles (42 km). Standard gauge,
diesel hauled or diesel railcars. Operates from late May to late
October. Trains covering the full route operate on Fridays and
Saturdays, shorter journeys are available daily. Short journeys also
operate weekends, late November to New Year.
Western Minnesota Steam
Threshers Reunion annual show on Labor Day weekend (beginning of
September) in Hawley, near Rollag, includes steam hauled train rides
on a standard gauge line around the showground (about 1 mile, 1.6 km)
and miniature railways.
