Central Railroad Hyannis to Buzzards Bay (or shorter trips) on the
tracks of Mass Coastal Railroad. Standard gauge, diesel hauled. Operates
weekends and most weekdays from the end of May to October. Dining train
operates at certain times, including weekends in November and

Cape Flyer
seasonal service from Boston provided by the Massachusetts Bay
Transportation Authority, extending beyond the usual terminus at
Middleborough / Lakeville to Buzzards Bay and Hyannis, providing
connections for Cape Cod Central Railroad, ferries to Martha’s
Vineyard and Nantucket, and local buses. Standard gauge, diesel hauled.
Operates Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays, late May to early

Edaville
Railroad 2 ft (610 mm) gauge railway about 2 miles (3km) in length,
located in the Edaville USA theme park, South Carver. Usually diesel
hauled, with a replica Thomas the Tank Engine locomotive. Operates
daily, late May to December
Hoosac Valley Train Ride North Adams to Adams,
about 5 miles (8 km) on tracks operated for freight by Berkshire
& Eastern. Standard gauge, diesel hauled or diesel railcars.
Operates weekends, public holidays, and some Fridays, late May to
mid October and late November to mid December
Massachusetts Bay Railroad Enthusiasts offers
occasionals excursions, usually on the lines of various tourist
railways, some of which include sections of those railways not used
by normal services
National Streetcar Museum runs trams on about 2 miles
(3 km) of former railway line connnecting downtown Lowell with the Lowell
National Historical Park. This is a free service funded by the National
Park Service. Operates every day from March to November
Shelburne Falls
Trolley Museum has a preserved historic tram operating on a short
track (about 700 ft, 213 m) in the museum grounds. Operates weekends and
holidays, late May to October, also Mondays in July and August
Six Flags New England theme park at Springfield
has a short miniature railway. Diesel hauled with a steam outline
locomotive. Operates weekends and most Fridays, April to October,
daily from late May to early September
