If you are going to study rocks and crystals in any detail, you will need good reference books. There are many such books for the Spiritual, Metaphysical and Healing properties of rocks and crystals, by if I had to choose just one it would be "Love is in the Earth - A Kaleidoscope of Crystals - Updated" by Melody.
If you like this, there are several other books in the same series that you may wish to add to your collection. You may then wish expand your horizons by consulting other author's works, which you can find in any bookstore with a good Mind, Body and Spirit section.
You may think that you do not need to know about physical properties and mineralogical information concerning rocks, but even if your interest is primarily New Age you may have to identify an unknown specimen that comes your way. For most purposes, an inexpensive beginner's book on rocks and minerals from any good bookstore will be adequate.
