The Tarot of Gemstones and Crystals by Helmut G Hofman
(published by A G Müller)
A delightful pack with beautiful pictures but does require some
previous familiarity with Tarot in order to get the best out of it.
Crystal Ally Cards by Naisha Ahsian
(published by Heaven and Earth Books)
Not a Tarot pack, but a good way of familiarizing with a selection
of rocks and crystals. Excellent pictures.
Crytal Oracle by Toni Carmine Salerno
(published by Toni Carmine Salerno)
Also not a Tarot pack, another good tool for familiarization with
good attention paid to the mystical meanings of the crytals described. Pictures
good, but by present day standards a little lacking in clarity of definition
and accuracy of colour rendering.
THE Tarot for the New Millennium by Melody
(published by Earth Love Publishing)
This Tarot by the author of the renowned "Love is in the Earth" series of books was
eagerly awaited at the turn of the century - we still had to wait a couple of years for
it to appear. I must confess to being a little
disappointed when I first saw it; it is based broadly speaking on the Crowley Thoth deck, which
even Crowley himself admitted was flawed. Some changes have been made, the most radical of
which is the introduction of a 23rd card in the Major Arcana: something that to a kabbalist
like myself is frankly absurd (where do you put it on the Tree of Life?). What is more, the
artwork leaves quite a bit to be desired - you often have to refer to the description in the
accompanying book to be clear about what you are looking at. But in spite of all these
criticisms, this is nevertheless a useful and valuable addition to the Tarot repertory; in particular
for relating the various types of quartz much used in Crystal work to the Tarot deck
and hence to the astrological, kabbalistic and healing correspondences.
